Scientist ‘B’ job vacancies in ICFRE (Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change)

SUPT (Plant Taxonomy) / 02  (SC-01; UR-0 1)

Essential Qualification : (i) First Class M.Sc. degree in Botany from a recognized University with specialization in Plant Taxonomy. OR First Class M.Sc. degree in Forestry from a recognizedUniversity with specialization in Plant Taxonomy. Desirable Qualification : a (ii) Ph.D. degree in Botany with specialization its Higher Plant Taxonomy.

SBBC (Biochemistry)/ 0l (ST-01)

Essential Qualification : (i) First class M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry from a recognized University with specialization in Natural Products. Desirable Qualification (ii Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry/ Natural Products.

SBAF (Agro-forestry)/ 01 (SC-01)

Essential qualification : (i) First Class Master's degree (M. Sc.) in Forestry/Agriculture from a recognized University with specialization in agro-forestry. Desirable Qualification :  (ii) Ph.D. degree in Botany/Forestry/Agriculture with Agro-forestry.

Essential qualification  : (i) First class M.Sc. degree in Forestry from a recognized University with specialization in Forest Genetics/Tree Breeding/Tree Propagation. Place of Posting : The persons selected against the posts in the above disciplines will be posted at Rain Forest Research Institute, Jorhat. All posts carry liability to serve anywhere in India.

Place of Written Examination: The written examination will be conducted at Forest Research Institute (FRJ), Dehra Dun and at Rain Forest Research Institute (MI), Jorhat. The candidates are required to indicate choice of two (02) Centres in order of preference. The Council reserves the right to allot an examination centre other than the preference given by the candidate. After allotment of examination centre, no request for change of examination centre shall be entertained in any circumstances and the candidates will have to appear at the allotted centre. Place of interview: ICFRE (l-Iqrs.), P.O. Application Fee : Candidates are required to pay non-refundable application fee of Rs.200/-(Rupees two hundred only) through bank Demand Draft drawn in favour of the "Drawing & Disbursing Officer (DUO), ICFRE" payable at Dehradun issued by any Nationalized Bank. No other mode of payment of application fee is acceptable. Separate applications should be submitted along with Demand Draft of Rs.200/- for each post, if a candidate wishes to apply for more than one post. The SC/ST/PH/Women candidates are exempted from the payment of the application fee.

Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding is a national institute formed in April, 1988 under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), an autonomous council under the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. To identify and evolve varieties of species used in afforestation and social forestry that will contribute to the national goal of achieving a growth of 3 to 4 cubic meters of biomass per ha per year within the ecological considerations applicable to the area.
