3.WORKING PRINCIPLE
IF HIGH VOLTAGE “DC” IS APPLIED BETWEEN TWO CONDUCTING ELEMENTS, THEN ELECTRICAL FIELD BECOMES STRONGEST NEAR THE –VE ELEMENTS, IT IS SO STRONG THAT ELECTRICAL DISCHARGE “THE CORONA DISCHARGE” DEVELOPS ATTACHED TO –VE ELECTRODE.
THE GAS IS IONISED IN THE CORONA DISCHARGE AND LARGE QUANTITIES OF +VE & -VE IONS ARE FORMED.
THE +VE IONS ARE IMMEDIATELY ATTRACTED TOWARDS THE –VE ELECTRODE.
THE –VE IONS HAVE TO CROSS THE ENTIRE SPACE BETWEEN THE ELECTRODES TO REACH +VE ELECTRODE.
DUST PARTICLES IN THE GAS ADHERE TO THE –VE IONS THUS THE PARTICLES BECOME –VELY CHARGED AND MIGRATE TOWARDS THE +VE ELECTRODE.
DEVELOPED ELECTRICAL FORCE > GRAVITATIONAL FORCE SO INSTEAD OF FALLING DOWN THE PARTICLES ARE ATTRACTED TO THE +VE ELECTRODE.

9.CASING
WELDED CONSTUCTION CONSISTING PRE-FABRICATED WALLS
INSPECTION DOORS ON SIDES AND MAN HOLES AT TOP IS PROVIDED
CASING RESTS ON ROLLER SUPPORTS TO ALLOW FOR FREE THERMAL EXPANSION
GALLERIES & STAIRWAYS ARE PROVIDED ON THE SIDES FOR EASY ACCESS TO EQIPMENTS, INSPECTION DOORS ETC.
WALKWAY INSIDE EP FOR INSPEC TION.

11. GAS DISTRIBUTION BAFFLES
GAS EXPANDS 10 FOLDS AFTER ENTERING THE ESP
GUIDE VANES, SPLITTERS, SCREENS ARE PROVIDED IN THE INLET FUNNEL TO DIRECT THE FLUE GAS EVENLY OVER THE ENTIRE CROSS SECTION.
GOOD PERFORMANCE OF ESP DEPENDS ON EVEN DISTRIBUTION OF GAS
