5.WATER
The pH of Water: Not less than 6
Acidity/Alkalinity test:
a)To neutralize 100 ml sample of water,
using phenolphthalein as an indicator,
it should not require more than 5ml of
0.02 N NaOH.
b) To neutralize 100 ml sample of water,
using mixed indicator,it should not require
more than 25ml of 0.02N H2SO4.Mixed indicator
to get sharp end point, green to yellow.
Dissolve 0.02g methyl red &0.01g bromocresol green
in 100ml 95% ethyl or isopropyl alcohol.

7.TESTS WITH DISTILLED WATER
(i)The initial setting time of test block made
with the cement &water proposed to be
used should not be less 30 minutes &
should not differ by +/- 30 minutes from the initial setting time of test block prepared with the same cement and distilled water.
(ii)The average 28-day compressive strength of 3,15cm cubes prepared with the water proposed to be used shall not be less than 90% of the average strength of 3 similar cubes prepared with distilled water.

8.FIBRES IN CONCRETE (Steel & Polypropylene)
Crack-control
Impact resistance
Abrasion resistance
Increased flexural strength
STEEL FIBRES:
(0.5-1.5% by volume of concrete)
Aspect Ratio: 80-100
POLYPROPYLENE FIBRES
0.6-1.8 Kg/m3 of concrete.
