3.CONSTRUCTION
Two drums placed at top and bottom
Larger at top steam drum
Smaller at bottom water drum
Two drums are connected by a tube of 32mm dia ie generating tube
4.The side, rear , roof of the furnace is made up of close pitched water tube expanded in square section
Lower side and rear side headers are fed from the water drum through the floor tubes.for water circulation.
All tubes and drum is fed by external downcomer at water drum
5.Normally 10-13 risers from water drum to steam drum
Five down comers from steam drum to water drum .
Superheater is fitted in between the tubes fitted at the aft of the generating tube.
6.Tis is largely water cooled furnace for high operating condition
Tis hav large bent tubes so difficult for cleanin and maintence
Requires good quality of feed water
To avoid scale formation
7.Furnace is placed at one side , so tat hot gases passin trou the generating tubes.
Temparature inside the furnace is around 1300c
After passin generating tubes gases will enter acnomiser section
Baffle arrangement is provided for good direct flow of gases
8.As density decreases when recevin heat from the flue gases thus it requires postive circulation of water
Refractory is placed behind the warer walls
Spl ducting is provided for combustion chamber
9.Internal acces is provided for both water drum and steam drum
Hand holes is provided in the water wall
Double casing wall is provided
10.Superheater is a compostion of 18% chrome , 55%nickel
On comparistion with ESD boilers superheated steam is produced more in esd type boilers
